Day and Eternity of James Mace

James Mace, an American researcher, is one of the striking personalities that make an impact on history. He revealed to the world the truth about the 1932-1933 Ukrainian Holodomor, proving that this tragedy was not a mere chance but a terrible crime of the Soviet government and deserves to be defined as genocide. Incidentally, he initiated the Candle in the Window campaign annually held on an increasingly wide scale all over Ukraine on the last Saturday of November - Holodomor and Political Repressions Remembrance Day. The book Day and Eternity of James Mace, published in Ukrainian and English, is in fact Ukraine's first collection of the researchers' works that were printed earlier on the pages of Den/The Day (Mace worked at our newspaper on 1997-2004). His articles and columns show an ample picture of both past and present Ukraine, and the author sometimes even takes a glimpse into the future, quite precisely foreseeing the events that occurred after his premature death in May 2004.
