China Design Now

From the entrepreneurial spirit of individual designers to the global ambitions of a nation, China Design Now explores how China's new design culture began, how it is developing, and where it is going.

Within the framework of three cities- Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Beijing-a broad range of topics is covered, including new media, fashion, architecture, and urban planning. 

This book is being published for a headline exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum, which coincides with the Beijing 2008 Olympics.

About the Author

Lauren Parker is Head of Contemporary Programs at the V&A and author of Interplay: Interactive Design. Zhang Hongxing is a Senior curator in the V&A's Asian Department.
