All the residents of a Mme. Vauquer's lodging-house line up in the despising of Father Goriot. Observant servants and lodgers noticed that “he was secretly visited by young ladies — perhaps, a dirty old man ran through a fortune on mistresses. However, he tried to misrepresent them as his daughters…” These words begin the novel by a famous French writer Honore De Balzak Father Goriot. Boundless and selfless love of a father to his children is shown in the novel but, unfortunately, it wasn't mutual and led to tragic consequences.
