The History of Tom Jones

The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling is a classic satirical novel by Henry Fielding. The way of writing, plot and characters show that it is also one of the first European realistic novels.

Tom Jones, an unknown founding, is brought up by his guardian Squire Allworthy, near whose house Jones was abandoned. Although the boy grew up as a cunning and nosey person, he was still honest and generous. He has a lot of troubles and difficulties ahead of him because of his excessive curiosity and uncontrollable temper. But all's well that ends well. Tom Jones finds the guardian's forgiveness and highly anticipated love.
