"The Scarlet Plague" is a famous novel by the outstanding American writer Jack London. After an apocalyptic catastrophe caused by an epidemic nearly the whole mankind dies; an old James Smith tells his three grandchildren about the life before tragedy. Jack London, a famous novelist and public person, tried to show human behaviour under difficult life circumstances, he believed in people and didn't forget about the romantic side of life.
