The Portrait of a Lady

The plot of the novel "The Portrait of a Lady" is very simple and fits the saying: if you look at a girl for a long time, you can see how she marries. In the novel, everything is as it is: a young lady comes from America to England to visit her mother's relatives. Suddenly a man dies, he leaves a young lady, beloved by his son, a fortune. At the same time, a peer  of England is wedded to this lady, but she refuses him and marries a man much older than she. But this marriage appears to be unlucky…
