The novel "Mansfield Park", the third published novel of Jane Austen (1775–1817), belongs to the mature period of her work. The romantic plot of the novel is permeated with the irony of the author. The novel tells the story of Fanny Price from the moment when she, a ten-year-old girl, is sent by her poor parents to live with her rich aunt in the Mansfield Park estate. In the new family, the girl is gradually growing up. She faces selfishness and treachery, cupidity and misunderstanding. Thanks to her kindness and resilience, Fanny manages to find herself and find her happiness.
